Dear Spirit to Spirit friend,
This time of our lives... this continuing time of our lives...everyone has been and is challenged. No one has been untouched by far reaching arm of our world pandemic landscape.
For some, it may be more about stress, strenuous problem solving, deep shift and change in order to navigate the new normal of our world. For others, it may be the mental/emotional and/or physical hardships that have been completely overwhelming. For many, all of the above.
Living in this deep well of uncertainty and unknown, we often feel strained to our core, especially with no clear end in sight.
Wherever you are on this spectrum, may this poem be a source of
ground and inspiration for you.
Let This Darkness Be a Bell Tower
Quiet friend who has come so far,
feel how your breathing makes more space around you.
Let this darkness be a bell tower
and you the bell. As you ring,
what batters you becomes your strength.
Move back and forth into the change.
What is it like, such intensity of pain?
If the drink is bitter, turn yourself to wine.
In this uncontainable night,
be the mystery at the crossroads of your senses,
the meaning discovered there.
And if the world has ceased to hear you,
say to the silent earth: "I flow."
To the rushing water, speak: "I Am."
***Rainer Maria Rilke, poet, novelist, "Sonnets to Orpheus II, 29"
New energy emerges each day. Abundant in potentiality and possibility.
In speaking into the day... "I AM " (That Which is Greater), doorways can open into those new possibilities.
In Gratitude & Love, Joanna
